Job summary

Fluidstack is seeking a Construction Lead for utility-scale solar and BESS projects. You will own day-to-day site execution, coordinate EPC contractors, civil crews, electrical trades, and equipment vendors to deliver safe, on-schedule facilities from mobilization through energization.

The role requires building integrated schedules in Primavera P6 or MS Project, enforcing a zero-incident safety culture, and proactively identifying long-lead equipment risks to keep projects on track.

Qualifications

• You've managed utility-scale solar or solar-plus-storage projects from mobilization through commercial operation.
• You coordinate civil, racking, PV, electrical, and BESS scopes without losing track of the critical path.
• You've written and executed site safety plans and enforced subcontractors.
• You identify long-lead equipment risks and interconnection milestones before they surface as delays.

Responsibilities

• Own day-to-day site execution for utility-scale solar and BESS projects, orchestrating EPC contractors, civil crews, electrical trades, and equipment vendors to deliver safe, on-schedule, on-budget facilities from mobilization through energization.
• Build, maintain, and drive integrated construction schedules (Primavera P6, MS Project) across civil, structural, electrical, BESS, substation, and gen-tie scopes, and issue recovery plans the moment a critical path slips.
• Enforce the site safety program and hold every subcontractor to a zero-incident standard, from pre-mobilization safety plans through final punch list.
• Coordinate civil, racking, PV, inverter, BESS, and MV/HV electrical trades in real time, resolving field conflicts before they hit the schedule, and manage QA/QC, RFI, submittal, and change-order workflows to close-out.
• Track and report daily progress, earned value, cost-to-complete, and procurement risks on long-lead equipment to surface issues early and act on them.

The Construction Team

Examples of key problems the team is working on

• Put gigawatts in the ground, faster than anyone has. We're delivering one of the largest data center buildouts of its kind, with many sites running at once. Traditional construction management breaks at this scale, so we're building the model that replaces it.

• Throw out traditional construction and invent how gigawatts get built. Tons of tools, layers of process, and administrative drag don't get you there. You'll strip all of that out and win by solving the real problem and beating the goal, not by managing toward it.

• Productize the data center so we can build it a thousand times. You'll turn one-off construction into a repeatable, modular build, where the hundredth site goes up faster and cleaner than the first. That repeatability is the only way to reach the scale we're targeting.

Role Scope

• Enforce the site safety program and hold every subcontractor to a zero-incident standard, from pre-mobilization safety plans through final punch list.

• Coordinate civil, racking, PV, inverter, BESS, and MV/HV electrical trades in real time, resolving field conflicts before they hit the schedule, and manage QA/QC, RFI, submittal, and change-order workflows to close-out.

• Track and report daily progress, earned value, cost-to-complete, and resource loading to the Project Manager, and surface procurement risks on long-lead equipment (transformers, switchgear, inverters) early enough to act on them.

What We're Looking For

• You've managed utility-scale solar, solar-plus-storage, or high-voltage substation construction from mobilization through commercial operation, and the projects you ran came in on schedule.

• You coordinate civil, racking, PV, electrical, and BESS scopes simultaneously without losing track of where each trade is relative to the critical path.

• You enforce safety hard: you've written and executed site safety plans, held subcontractors to them, and managed the documentation to prove it.

• You catch long-lead equipment risks, SCADA integration gaps, and interconnection milestone conflicts before they surface as schedule hits.

• You build and drive integrated schedules in Primavera P6 or MS Project, and your reporting is specific enough that a project manager can act on it the same day they read it.

• Bonus: Utility-scale BESS construction. Substation and gen-tie scope. Multi-site concurrent delivery. OSHA 30.
