Starlink is seeking a Materials R&D Specialist to partner with engineering and stand up insourced solar cell manufacturing—from silicon ingot growth to cell metrology. You will execute processing, characterization, and equipment work, propose experimental plans, and help transfer stable methods to production.

You will contribute to developing methods, documenting results, and training production technicians as methods move to manufacturing, while maintaining lab safety and 5S standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in materials science, chemistry, chemical engineering, or another STEM discipline; or a minimum of 4 years of hands‑on laboratory experience.
• Hands‑on experience in semiconductor or photovoltaic manufacturing, silicon crystal growth, wafer manufacturing, materials characterization.
• Experience using and maintaining materials‑characterization or process equipment (e.g., microscopy, spectroscopy, metrology, wet benches).
• Experience writing SOPs or training others to follow them.
• Ability to work independently and with cross‑functional teams.

Responsabilités

• Bring processes and equipment online and drive process development, qualification, and test method development from silicon ingot growth through wafering and metrology.
• Perform routine and non‑routine processing and experimental methods for crystal growth, wafer fabrication, and cell metrology.
• Identify and implement new processing methods and equipment, documenting changes and training others.
• Commission, calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot process and metrology equipment; diagnose issues with engineers.
• Document procedures and data to ensure repeatability and traceability; write SOPs and train technicians.
