Job summary

America West Medical Transportation is seeking an NEMT Driver responsible for transporting wheelchair or stretcher patients in a fully equipped vehicle. You may work solo or with a teammate depending on assignments.

The role requires a valid license, clean driving record, and the ability to pass health and drug screenings. Responsibilities include safe transport from home to service location and back, using company software, and delivering excellent patient service.

• Ability to pass a drug test and health screening including TB test/x-ray

About the Role

The NEMT Driver will be responsible for picking up wheelchair patients or stretcher patients using a fully loaded vehicle equipped for wheelchairs or stretchers and a GPS system. This position may work independently or with another teammate based on driving assignments.

What You’ll Do

• Maintain vehicle cleanliness

Qualifications

• Valid State Driver’s license required
• 3 years of professional driving experience required
• Clean driving record (No more than 1 point)
• Ability to successfully pass a drug test and health screening which includes alcohol, TB skin test and/or TB chest x-ray
• Ability to pass a physical agility test
• Ability to lift/maneuver 50 pounds
• Fluency in speaking and understanding English, strong communication skills
• Ability to drive to various locations
• Professionalism
• Ability to use apps and electronic devices

Preferred Skills

• Bilingual language ability preferred
• Previous wheelchair transport experience

Final pay rate is determined based on qualifications, experience, and performance, at the employer’s discretion.
