Job summary

Gregg Drilling, LLC is seeking a Soils Technician for our Northern California office in Benicia, CA. This role blends fieldwork with office tasks, involving data collection, processing, and reporting on in-situ tests.

You will operate pressure meters, dilatometers, vane shear devices and related equipment, with training provided if needed, and travel within California and nearby Western states.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in civil engineering field testing (e.g., nuclear gauge testing, compaction testing, concrete testing).
• Training provided for the right candidate if not experienced with all equipment.

Responsibilities

• Set up, calibrate, maintain, and perform minor repairs on in-situ testing equipment (pressure meter, dilatometer, vane shear).
• Conduct pre-trip inspections and establish control zones.
• Collect and monitor field data with accuracy and attention to detail.
• Follow all safety policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
