Job summary

Gregg Drilling, LLC seeks a skilled CPT/HRSC Operator to support environmental and geotechnical investigations across California. You will operate CPT, MIP, and related systems in a hands-on field role, preparing and breaking down drilling sites with a dedicated crew.

The position requires mechanical aptitude, safety awareness, and the ability to produce high-quality data. It involves physical activity, lifting, and outdoor work with potential overtime throughout the workday.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 2+ years environmental drilling experience with MIP systems.
• Valid driver’s license; Class A or B preferred.
• Willing to travel extensively and work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Ability to lift 30+ pounds.
• Pass yearly physical and random drug/alcohol tests.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; good interpersonal skills.
• Ability to perform physical labor and use proper lifting techniques.
• Overtime work up to 12 hours/day.

Responsibilities

• Operate CPT, MIP, HPT, and UVOST systems.
• Set up, calibrate, maintain, and perform minor repairs on equipment.
• Conduct pre‑trip inspections and establish control zones.
• Collect and monitor field data with accuracy.
• Follow all safety policies and site procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
