SGS Consulting in Boston is seeking a Software QA Engineer to design and implement verification and validation plans, write and execute test cases, and drive quality across the SDLC. You will develop automated testing frameworks, analyze results, and work with development teams to resolve defects while ensuring regulatory compliance (ISO, IEC, FDA).

A BS in CS or related field and strong communication are required.

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or related field.
• Experience in software testing, V&V and regulated industries preferred.

Job Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement software verification and validation plans, protocols, and procedures.
• Design, write, and execute test cases based on software requirements and specifications.
• Perform functional, regression, integration, system, and acceptance testing.
• Analyze test results, identify defects, and work closely with development teams to resolve issues.
• Document test results and maintain traceability between requirements and test cases.
• Participate in reviews of requirements, design, and code to ensure testability and compliance.
• Ensure software meets quality standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., ISO, IEC, FDA, etc.).
• Contribute to risk assessment and mitigation activities related to software quality.
• Develop, maintain and improve automated testing frameworks and tools.
• Provide input into continuous improvement of V&V processes.

Skills:

• Experience in software testing, verification, and validation (V&V).
• Proficiency with test management and defect tracking tools (e.g., JIRA, TestRail).
• Proficiency of automation tools and scripting languages (e.g., Window Powershell , Python, Selenium, etc.).
• Familiarity with Windows Domain configurations and maintenance.
• Familiarity with software development life cycle (SDLC) and testing methodologies.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience in regulated industries (e.g., medical devices, aerospace, automotive) is desirable.

Education/Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or related field.
