Software Tester – Microsoft Dynamics 365

Software Tester – Microsoft Dynamics 365

We are seeking 2 experienced Software Testers with a strong background in Microsoft Dynamics 365 environments to support multiple testing phases, including sprint testing, end-to-end, and business UAT. This is a contract role offering remote work with occasional travel to client sites as needed.

The ideal candidate will have at least 8 years of overall experience, including a minimum of 2 years testing Dynamics 365 solutions, strong communication skills, and hands-on experience with test case creation, execution, defect tracking, and test automation.

Planning & Coordination

• Develop test strategies and test plans for monthly sprints, end-to-end testing, and UAT.
• Coordinate testing activities within pre-determined sprints and release cycles.
• Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and project managers to enhance testing processes.
• Write, execute, and maintain comprehensive test cases.
• Create and maintain clear, well-documented test plans and procedures.

Testing Execution

• Execute test cases and compare outcomes with expected results.
• Ensure traceability between business requirements and test cases.
• Validate readiness of test environments and data.
• Identify and document deficiencies, logging defects and following up on resolutions.
• Guide and mentor business users during UAT sessions.
• Aggregate and report on user-reported issues and defects.

Go-Live Readiness & Post-Go-Live Support

• Participate in go-live planning and readiness activities.
• Perform smoke, sanity, and critical business function tests post-deployment.
• Log and triage production issues, monitoring system performance and data integrity during stabilization.
• Minimum 8 years’ overall QA/software testing experience.
• At least 2 years of hands-on experience testing in Microsoft Dynamics 365.
• Experience writing clear, concise, and comprehensive test cases and automating test scripts.
• Proven ability to derive test scenarios and plans from business requirements.
• Experience creating and modifying manual and automated test plans.
• Minimum 1 year using Azure DevOps or Visual Studio Premium test tools.
• Hands-on experience with white-box and black-box testing.
• Strong communication skills — capable of explaining technical concepts to non-technical users.

Experience with:

• Microsoft Power Apps / Power Pages
• C#
• SQL (including Dataverse and AQL queries)
• HTML
• Object-oriented programming (OOP)

Preferred/Desired Skills:

• Experience testing in Dynamics 365 Customer Service and Dynamics 365 Finance modules.
• Testing experience within a Washington State agency environment.
• Experience with test automation tools such as Selenium, Playwright, or equivalent.
• 2+ years’ experience using ADO for test case management and defect tracking.
• Performance and load testing experience.
• Strong skills in gathering, analyzing, and presenting information to both technical and business teams.
