Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. seeks a Software Test Engineer at its Chicago facility to perform testing, project management and QA assignments. You will analyze requirements, develop automation tests and coordinate with product owners to ensure high-quality software releases.

Responsibilities include test automation design, REST API testing, performance testing, and contributing to AWS/CI/CD workflows. Hybrid work up to 3 days/week; travel not required.

Qualifications

• Master's or Bachelor's with required experience in software testing as described.
• Experience designing and implementing test automation frameworks.
• Knowledge of REST APIs, SQL databases and CI/CD practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead testing and QA assignments with minimal supervision across software projects.
• Develop and execute automation test cases for complex apps.
• Collaborate with product owners and developers to resolve issues and enhancements.
• Document defects, monitor resolutions and participate in regression testing.
• Perform integrated and performance testing and support CI/CD pipelines.
