Job summary

WR Systems is seeking a Software Test Engineer in Norfolk, VA to support the design and testing of geospatial GIS applications using advanced programming languages. The role entails GUI and backend testing, troubleshooting, and performance tuning in a collaborative environment.

The candidate should have a BS in a related field and at least 3 years of Software Test Engineer experience, with strong knowledge of C++, C#, and/or Python and familiarity with ASP.NET, Blazor, .NET Core, and Mono.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or final year in Computer/Software Engineering, CS, Math, Physics or related field.
• 3+ years of Software Test Engineer experience.
• Strong understanding of advanced programming concepts (OOP, design patterns, multi-threading).
• Experience with C++, C#, and/or Python.

Travel Requirements: Limited travel; must be willing and able to support division travel to trade shows and customer sites, as needed.

SUMMARY: WR has an opportunity for a Software Test Engineer to support the design and testing of geospatial/geographic information systems (GIS) using advanced programming languages.

Position responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:

• Supports geospatial-based software design and testing with an emphasis on:
  
  
  
  • Graphical User Interfaces (GUIs)
  
  
  • Backend logic and databases
  
  
  
  


• Conducts software testing, troubleshooting, debugging, and performance tuning.


• Supports the evaluation and validation of software functionality and performance.

Candidates must possess the following knowledge, skills, and experience:

• Bachelor of Science degree, conferred or currently in the final year of a program, in Computer/Software Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or a related scientific discipline.


• Three (3)+ years of Software Test Engineer experience.


• Strong understanding of advanced programming concepts, including:

• Proficiency in a high-level programming language, with C++ and/or C# preferred.

Position Salary Range: $104,000 - $133,000. The listed salary range represents the typical range for this position. WR bases the offered salary on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual candidate qualifications, such as education, experience, knowledge, and skills, scope and responsibilities of the position, and market and business considerations.
