Job summary

CAC I International Inc is seeking a Software Test Engineering Intern for Summer 2027 to work on TestExec, the automated testing framework, designing and executing tests for ground and space communication systems. This on-site position emphasizes hands-on testing with lab equipment and automation using Python.

You will design tests, automate procedures, and collaborate across engineering teams while leveraging Linux and GitLab in a lab environment.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a STEM degree.
• 1+ semester of Object Oriented development experience.
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening.
• 0-1+ years of lab environment experience.
• Experience with the Linux Operating System.
• Experience with version control tools, such as GitLab.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Design tests for ground and/or space systems as part of a team.
• Work with test equipment such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, signal generators, etc.
• Conduct automated and manual testing of software controlling hardware and peripherals.
• Automate test procedures using Python scripting.
• Collaborate with engineering disciplines to implement tests and validate results.
• Support Test Planning by mapping requirements to Test Procedures for Factory Acceptance Tests.
• Use engineering skills to analyze, design, and implement automated scripts within complex systems.

The Opportunity

CACI - Advanced Communications is seeking Software Test Engineering Interns for Summer 2027 who are passionate about working closely with our team to solve difficult mission‑critical challenges. In this important role, you will be working on TestExec®—our Automated Testing Framework to automate data collection, analysis, and test procedures. This position is fully on‑site.

Responsibilities

• Design tests for ground and/or space communication systems both individually and within a group environment
• Work with test and measurement equipment such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, signal generators, etc.
• Conduct automated and manual testing of applications controlling integrated hardware and peripheral equipment while supporting/enhancing existing software products as necessary
• Automate test procedures using python scripting
• Collaborate with other engineering disciplines to implement tests and validate test results
• Support Test Planning by mapping requirements to Test Procedures for Factory Acceptance Tests
• Use your engineering skills to analyze, design, and implement automated scripts within complex systems

Qualifications

• Experience with the use of lab equipment, such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, power supplies, and digital multi-meters is a plus
• Experience with python numpy and matplotlib libraries for data analysis

The Proposed Salary Range For This Position Is

$39,900-$79,900
