Job summary

Twenty-Six Defense is seeking a Software Test Engineer II to join our engineering team in Roanoke, VA. You will design, develop, and execute tests for night-vision sensors and related systems, building test hardware and software and ensuring products meet stringent performance criteria.

You will collaborate with electrical, mechanical, optical, software, and system engineers, lead test activities, and document results to support qualification, verification, and release of products to end

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in engineering is required; electrical, mechanical, optical, computer, or software engineering preferred.
  • Must be able to obtain a favorably adjudicated DOD Clearance at the Secret level.
  • BS with 2+ years' experience in test design and development.
  • Experience in leading a team or project.
  • Provide thorough, accurate information to inform the product team and to meet commitment times or performance metrics.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including MS Office.
  • Use the scientific method to identify possible solutions to failures.
  • Able to read schematics and mechanical drawings/models.

  • Participate in engineering design reviews and provide test-related feedback.
  • Release work product into the appropriate document and change management tool.
  • Interface with other engineering disciplines and program management to understand requirements and scope of effort.
  • Research new developments in test technology and apply them to product testing.

This includes creating the test hardware and software required to evaluate these products. Success in this role requires effective collaboration within a cross-functional engineering team to complete projects and release products to our end customers.
