Job Title: Software Test Engineer

This role leads the design and implementation of robust automated test systems for RF, DC, and functional testing, with a strong focus on software quality, data integrity, and production reliability. The Software Test Engineer develops and maintains test frameworks for production applications, REST APIs, and relational databases while driving test optimization, analytics, and cybersecurity compliance across all test-related software and data assets.

Responsibilities

• Lead the architecture and implementation of automated test systems for RF, DC, and functional testing used in production environments.
• Design, develop, and maintain test frameworks for production applications, REST APIs, and relational databases to ensure reliable and repeatable testing.
• Integrate test frameworks based on structured architectural patterns, ensuring clear separation of UI, API, and database layers.
• Define, implement, and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for test systems using tools such as Power BI to provide real-time test analytics and yield monitoring.
• Drive test optimization efforts, including design-for-test (DFT) reviews, test coverage validation, and root cause analysis of test failures.
• Ensure cybersecurity compliance across all software and data assets related to test systems, including secure data handling and access control.
• Own final code merge and release readiness decisions, ensuring that all test systems and frameworks meet quality, performance, and compliance requirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in RF testing, instrumentation, and manufacturing to align test system capabilities with operational needs.
• Implement and support traceable, audit-defensible data practices within test systems to meet quality and compliance standards.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of test processes, including the use of CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation where applicable.

Essential Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Software Engineering Technology, or a closely related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in software development or test automation engineering.
• Expert-level experience developing and supporting test systems using C# (WinForms) for shop-floor or production applications.
• Expert-level experience developing and supporting service and API-based test systems using FastAPI or similar frameworks.
• Strong understanding of test system architecture, including clear separation of UI, API, and database layers.
• Proven ability to design controlled data flow and validation within test systems to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
• Experience implementing traceability and audit-defensible data practices in test environments.
• Hands-on experience with RF test systems, instrumentation, and/or manufacturing environments.
• Proficiency in working with relational databases and database management concepts.
• Experience with software testing, test automation frameworks, and API testing.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server for developing and supporting test-related databases.
• Ability to define and track test-related KPIs and perform data analysis for test results and yield metrics.
• Understanding of RF and radio frequency concepts as they relate to automated test systems.

• Demonstrated technical leadership experience, including system ownership and decision-making for test architectures and releases.
• Expert-level knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server, including design, optimization, and maintenance of test databases.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 or similar quality and compliance frameworks and their application to test systems and data practices.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation to streamline test system updates and releases.
• Experience using Power BI or similar data analytics platforms for real-time test analytics and yield monitoring.
• Exposure to cybersecurity practices related to software, APIs, and data assets in test environments.
• Experience working with RF instrumentation and automated test equipment in production or manufacturing settings.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly in root cause analysis and test coverage validation.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with engineering, quality, and manufacturing teams to align test strategies with business needs.

Work Environment

The role operates in a hybrid work environment with approximately 60% of the time spent in an office setting and around 30% of the time working remotely. The office environment supports collaboration with engineering, quality, and manufacturing teams, as well as hands-on interaction with RF test systems, instrumentation, and shop-floor applications built in C# WinForms. The position involves working with relational databases such as Microsoft SQL Server, API services built with frameworks like FastAPI, and analytics tools such as Power BI to monitor test performance and yield. The work setting emphasizes structured software development practices, data integrity, and adherence to quality and compliance standards, while supporting a balance of focused individual work and team-based problem solving.

This is a Permanent position based out of Solon, OH.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $115000.00/yr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
Medical Plan offerings are: 1. PPO ($1,000/$2,000 deductible) 2. PPO ($2,000/$4,000 deductible) 3. HDHP/HSA ($3400/$6600 deductible) - Embedded plan Delta Dental: - Dependent children may be covered to age 26 regardless of student status (same as medical/vision). Dependent children will lose eligibility at the end of the month in which they turn 26. MMO Vision : Dependent children may be covered up to age 26. 401(k): eligible 90 days after employment. Match on 1%, 50% match on 2-6%. Additional 50% on 7% at end of calendar year if average annual `contribution was 7%.
