Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in a technical field.
• 0-3 years in software/test/integration roles or internships valued.
• Foundational experience in software development, testing, or systems integration.
• Familiarity with Unix/Linux operating systems and basic Linux admin.

Responsibilities

• Perform hardware and software integration of new and existing systems, LRUs.

Software Test / Integration Engineer

Position Summary

We are seeking a Software Test / Integration Engineer to support the development, integration, testing, and release of advanced software and hardware systems used in aerospace and in-flight entertainment platforms.

This role is ideal for an early-career engineer who is passionate about technology, problem-solving, and systems integration. You will partner with software, systems, and hardware engineering teams to validate new functionality, execute integration testing, maintain test environments, investigate technical issues, and support product releases.

Key Responsibilities

System Integration & Testing

• Perform hardware and software integration of new and existing systems, functions, and Line Replaceable Units (LRUs).
• Execute integration and verification testing to validate system and component functionality.
• Configure and maintain test rack environments to support installations and testing activities.
• Support software release verification and regression testing efforts.
• Develop and execute test plans, procedures, and validation activities.
• Document testing activities, results, defects, and findings accurately and thoroughly.

Troubleshooting & Root Cause Analysis

• Investigate, diagnose, and resolve hardware and software issues identified during integration and testing.
• Serve as a key contributor to system-level troubleshooting efforts.
• Analyze system anomalies and collaborate with development teams to identify root causes and corrective actions.
• Support technical investigations across multiple engineering disciplines.

Engineering Collaboration

• Work closely with software developers, systems engineers, and hardware engineers throughout the product lifecycle.
• Participate in design reviews and system functionality evaluations.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to testing processes, tools, and documentation.
• Communicate technical findings through reports, presentations, and team discussions.

Required Qualifications

Education

Bachelor's Degree In One Of The Following Disciplines

• Computer Science
• Computer Engineering
• Electrical Engineering
• Software Engineering
• Related technical field

Equivalent combinations of education and relevant experience will also be considered.

Experience

• 0-3 years of experience in one or more of the following areas:
  • Software Engineering
  • Systems Engineering
  • Software Testing
  • Hardware Testing
  • Systems Integration
• Internship or co-op experience in testing, validation, or development environments is highly valued.

Technical Skills

• Foundational experience in software development, testing, or systems integration.
• Familiarity with Unix and Linux operating systems.
• Basic Linux system administration and command-line experience preferred.
• Experience creating and executing test procedures.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Communication Skills

• Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
• Ability to clearly document test results, investigations, and technical findings.
• Effective collaboration skills within cross-functional engineering teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in aerospace, avionics, embedded systems, or in-flight entertainment (IFE) environments.
• Exposure to hardware/software integration laboratories or test environments.
• Familiarity with automated testing tools and methodologies.
• Basic understanding of networking, embedded systems, or aircraft systems.
• Experience supporting complex, mission‑critical technology platforms.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Irvine, CA.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $34.00 - $36.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job‑related factors.
