Job summary

State Street Corporation in Quincy, MA seeks a Software Test Automation Engineer to join our AML Transaction Monitoring QA team. You will develop and maintain an automation framework leveraging cloud and big data tech (Databricks, AWS, Spark, Scala, Python) to validate large data sets and improve testing efficiency.

You will collaborate with developers and QA to design and implement automated test solutions, build Databricks workflows, and drive improvements in testing strategies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field and 5+ years in Software Test Automation with Cloud/Big Data tech.
• Hands-on experience with Cloud/Big Data technologies (Databricks, AWS, Spark, Scala).
• Experience with agile methodologies and tools (JIRA, X-Ray, Confluence).
• Ability to create objects and methods and hand-code automated test scripts.

Software Test Automation Engineer (State Street Bank and Trust Company; Quincy, MA)

The Software Testing Automation Engineer will play a key role in the quality assurance of AML Transaction Monitoring suite of applications. This role will be responsible for developing and maintaining the automation framework including Cloud technologies like Databricks, AWS, Python, PySpark, Airflow, ETL. Adopt and implement new automated tools and technologies suited for the AML program to improve efficiency and quality.

Hybrid remote telecommuting permitted pursuant to company policy.

Responsibilities

• Drive testing automation solutions across multiple platforms including AML Transaction Monitoring.
• Set up and develop the automation framework and create Databricks workflows/jobs to schedule and run the automation suite.
• Handle large‑volume data validations using Python/PySpark query implementation.
• Create customized technical frameworks and architect technical solutions for any business needs.
• Design systems that support large‑scale data processing, optimizing storage and performance.
• Perform entity resolution for Anti‑Money Laundering.
• Work with users and developers to define new projects that extend and enhance the company’s proprietary financial applications.
• Create test scenarios and implement functional test cases (automated and otherwise) that serve as acceptance test criteria for enhancements and new applications.
• Collaborate with developers and QA members to run test suites and research errors.
• Work with developers to utilize and extend custom test harnesses for applications.
• Find ways to enhance the testing process with new tools, strategies or techniques.
• Show willingness to learn new technologies and push the boundaries of test automation to achieve measurable efficiencies.

Qualifications

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field plus 5 years of experience in Software Test Automation Solutions using Cloud/Big Data technologies.
• Hands‑on experience with Cloud and Big Data technologies such as Scala, Spark, Databricks, or AWS.
• Experience with agile methodology and tools like JIRA, X‑Ray, or Confluence.
• Expertise in providing cloud solutions.
• Proven ability to create objects and methods, and hand‑code test scripts using automated testing tools.
• Knowledge of reusable coding patterns and object‑oriented paradigms applied to automated testing tools.
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills within the quality assurance environment, with the ability to communicate findings to technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Hands‑on experience in ETL/DWH testing.
• Proficiency with SQL (analytical functions and complex queries), SQL Developer and TOAD.
• Experience writing Spark SQL queries for data analysis.
• Experience with Hadoop Big Data testing.
• Knowledge of test methodologies and corresponding tools including JIRA, X‑Ray, HP ALM or RTC.
• Demonstrated understanding of Agile methodology and Agile ceremonies.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to play Agile Scrum Master role for the Agile ceremonies.
• Hands‑on experience with Selenium WebDriver or Python for test automation framework.
