Job summary
Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services (HFS) is seeking an entry level Software Technician (UMP) in Springfield to support DoIT within the Bureau of Technical Operations. The role focuses on assisting with application development and software maintenance for state services.
The ideal candidate has two years of college coursework in CS or related fields and may have experience with IBM Z/OS, JCL, SQL, SharePoint. Hybrid work is available with required HQ reporting.
Qualifications
- Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of two years of college with coursework in computer science, or related fields.
- Qualifying state employees may use proficiency tests and training to gain a certificate instead of the stated requirements.
Responsibilities
- Under supervision, serves as Software Technician supporting DoIT for HFS in the BTO to assist in application development.
- Assists in establishing strategies for vendor-supplied software implementations.
- Assists in system administration and software support for computer software.
