Feather Robotics invites a Software & Technical Marketing Engineer Intern to join our team on-site in California for a fixed 3-month term with a possible extension to 6 months. Performance may lead to a permanent full-time role.

You will work across software, hardware, and media production, delivering real robot software, tools, and compelling demonstrations. The role blends software engineering with technical storytelling, focusing on building tools, validating firmware, and creating demo

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Computer Science, Robotics, Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong software fundamentals and the ability to read, write, and debug production code (Python, C++, Rust).
• Strong communication skills with an interest in technical marketing, video production, or storytelling.

Responsibilities

• Build tools for engineering, ops, and production.
• Build test and diagnostic systems that catch failures before robots reach customers.
• Contribute to the SDK our customers write code against.
• Own the last mile before a robot ships — firmware, calibration, health checks, full-system validation.
• Debug in the field and on the bench to resolve edge cases, hardware anomalies, and failures that only show up outside the lab.
• Program robot behaviors built for the camera — demos, launch films, developer updates.
• Be involved in the production of media content, turning engineering work into stories that hold up with engineers and everyone else.

Software & Technical Marketing Engineer Intern

Employment Type: Paid on-site role. This is a fixed 3-month term with an option to extend to 6 months. Candidates are considered for a permanent full-time role at the end of the term based on performance.

About

Feather builds a general-purpose humanoid platform for companies deploying robots into real work.

This role sits between our software team, our hardware floor, and our media production work. You'll help ship code for real humanoid robots, write tools to get them out the door, and program them to do things worth showing. This role is approximately 70% software engineering and 30% technical marketing.

What you'll be involved in

Infrastructure & Automation

• Build tools for engineering, ops, and production.
