We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Technical Lead Manager to spearhead the design, development, and management of our cutting-edge Fleet Foundations platform which is a mission-critical initiative that will define the technical foundation for our product ecosystem. This platform will address challenges in ingesting, processing, and storing high-volume IoT data from our edge devices and create the derived data models, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and scalability across all our products. You will lead a team of exceptional engineers to build a unified system that serves as the backbone of all Motive products, enabling seamless integration and exceptional customer experience.

What You’ll Do
Leadership and Team Management
  • Lead and inspire a team of high-performing engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and technical excellence.
  • Provide technical direction, mentorship, and career growth opportunities for team members.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to align on goals, priorities, and deliverables.
  • Champion best practices for software development, testing, and deployment.
Technical Responsibilities
  • Architect and Design Systems: Lead the design of a unified data ingestion, processing, and storage platform capable of handling large-scale, distributed systems.
  • Ensure Data Consistency: Define and enforce guidelines for ingesting, storing, and retrieving foundational data to eliminate inconsistencies and inaccuracies.
  • Ownership and Accountability: Establish clear ownership of the foundational data and interfaces, creating standards for integration with other teams and product areas.
  • Scalability and Performance: Build scalable interfaces with low-latency data delivery to meet the demands of enterprise and international markets.
  • Refactor Existing Systems: Identify and address technical debt in existing codebases to prepare the platform for rapid growth.

Leverage AI on Edge: Partner with AI and Embedded teams to address customer pain points by adopting a full-stack, end-to-end approach to deliver intelligent solutions leveraging AI on edge.

Problem Solving and Innovation
  • Develop heuristics and machine learning-based methods for data validation and accuracy improvements.
  • Proactively address customer feedback and escalations by identifying root causes and implementing long-term solutions.
  • Partner with product and engineering leaders across the organization to ensure the platform meets both current and future business needs for all Motive products
Stakeholder Engagement
  • Work closely with product managers, designers, and other engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of the platform into the broader ecosystem.
  • Communicate technical challenges, solutions, and progress to non-technical stakeholders.
What We’re Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree is a plus.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in software engineering, with at least 2 years in a leadership role
  • Proven success in leading and delivering complex backend software engineering projects.
  • Strong understanding of software development processes and methodologies
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Pay Transparency
Your compensation may be based on several factors, including education, work experience, and certifications. For certain roles, total compensation may include restricted stock units. The compensation range for this position will depend on where you reside. For this role, the compensation range is:

$190,000 - $245,000 USD
