You will be working on a variety of projects, tasks, and assignments. Your job is to assist us in providing services that give value to a wide variety of public and private clients on time and within budget at a reasonable profit for the company.

Responsibilities

• Write code to support custom applications and data analysis.
• Maintain, document, optimize, troubleshoot, and support existing data systems, applications, and code repositories.
• Database maintenance, design, development, and documentation.
• Managing and integrating new technologies for data processing, visualization, presentation.
• Follow Shannon and Wilson’s Quality Assurance policy.
• Follow and promote Shannon and Wilson’s health and safety and loss prevention procedures and policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned by your supervisor.

Requirements

• BS Degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 1 to 5 years of experience as a Computer Scientist.
• Fluency in Python (experience with numpy, scipy, and pandas is a plus).
• Fluency in Visual Basic, SQL, C#, and/or Microsoft Power Platform are a plus.
• Experience with databases (MS SQL required, Azure Cosmos DB is a plus).
• Experience using GitHub for code collaboration and publishing.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
• Experience with .NET and / or ESRI GIS is a plus.
• Experience with or knowledge of geotechnical engineering is a plus.
• Excellent writing, organizational, and communication skills.
• Personable, flexible, and professional demeanor.
• The ability to work independently with the appropriate level of supervision.
• The willingness and ability to travel to support the needs of other Shannon & Wilson offices.

Level Placement

Typically, depending on an applicant's education, experience, other qualifications they possess, if they are a fit for the company and local office culture, and the current business needs, a Software Systems Engineer typically would be placed at a Shannon & Wilson Professional I, II, III, or IV level.

• Professional I range: $67,750.00 - $75,000.00.
• Professional II range: $70,000.00 - $85,000.00
• Professional III range: $80,000.00 - $95,000.00
• Professional IV range: $90,000.00 - $105,000.00
