Description

We are seeking a Systems Engineer to join our Navy Programs team. In this role, you will support the requirements analysis, design, integration, and test of mission-critical systems supporting U.S. Navy submarines, aircraft carriers, and shore-based platforms. You will support operational readiness by helping ensure system designs meet government specifications and are thoroughly documented, verified, and certified.

The ideal candidate will bring a working understanding of systems engineering principles, requirements management, and technical documentation across the system development life cycle. This position is well suited for an engineer with one to three years of experience who wants to build depth in systems engineering, enjoys analyzing how complex systems fit together, and works well with software engineers, product leads, and testers in an agile team. The work directly supports U.S. Navy submarine combat systems.

This is a full-time position based in Middletown, RI. The position requires U.S. citizenship and an active DoD Secret Clearance. The annual base salary is $95,000 – $105,000, with final compensation based on experience and skills.

  • Participating in functional and performance analysis, system design, and trade studies with guidance from senior engineers.
  • Defining and documenting interfaces between system components, software, and external systems.
  • Developing engineering products such as specifications, interface documents, diagrams, and test procedures using program standards and tools.
  • Supporting system integration and verification testing in lab environments and helping trace test results to system requirements.
  • Identifying and helping resolve system design and interface issues discovered during development, integration, and test.
  • Supporting system accreditation and certification activities by preparing documentation and evidence and assisting during evaluation events.
Required Skills:
  • U.S. citizenship and an active DoD Secret clearance at time of hire.
  • Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, plus 1–2 years of professional engineering experience (internships and co-ops with substantial systems engineering work will be considered).

Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with MBSE languages (SysML preferred) and toolsets (Cameo/MagicDraw, IBM Rhapsody, Sparx Enterprise Architect or similar).
  • Experience with Navy combat or weapon systems, including Tomahawk.
  • Experience supporting system accreditation, certification, or the DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF).
