Job summary

Leidos is seeking a highly motivated Software Systems Engineer to support defense and government programs across the systems engineering lifecycle. The role emphasizes MBSE, requirements development, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver system design, integration, and verification.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on MBSE experience with Cameo Systems Modeler, SysML modeling, and experience using Jama for requirements management.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship with ability to obtain a security clearance.
• Bachelors degree or higher in a technical field (Systems/Electrical/Software/Computer Engineering or similar).
• 10+ years of systems engineering experience or 12+ years with MS degree.
• Experience supporting defense or DoD programs.
• Hands-on MBSE experience using Cameo Systems Modeler.
• Experience with SysML modeling and model-based architecture development.
• Experience using Jama for requirements management and traceability.
• Strong competencies in requirements development, decomposition, and management.

Responsibilities

• Perform systems engineering across the full lifecycle: requirements analysis, functional decomposition, system architecture, integration, verification, and validation.
• Develop and maintain engineering documentation: PIDs, ICDs, SSS, SRS.
• Support requirements decomposition, allocation, traceability, and change management.
• Utilize Jama for requirements management and Cameo for MBSE artifacts.
• Create SysML diagrams: activity, sequence, use case, and interface models.
• Lead technical reviews and coordinate with software, hardware, cybersecurity, and test teams.

The ideal candidate will have strong defense industry experience,expertisein requirements development and management, and hands-on experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodologies and tools including Cameo and Jama. This role requires collaboration with cross-functional engineering teams, program leadership, and government stakeholders to support system design, development, integration, verification, and delivery.

• Support requirements decomposition, allocation, traceability, and change management activities.
• Utilize Jama for requirements management, traceability, and collaboration across engineering teams.
• Utilize Cameo Systems Modeler to develop and maintain MBSE artifacts and system models.
• Support requirements decomposition, allocation, traceability, and change management activities.
• DevelopSysMLdiagrams including:
  • Activity diagrams
  • Sequence diagrams
  • Use case diagrams
  • Interface models
  • Support model-based architecture development and interface definition activities.
  • Conduct technical reviews, requirements reviews, and design reviews with internal teams.
  • Collaborate with software, hardware, cybersecurity, integration, and test teams to ensure system performance and compliance.
  • Provide technical leadership and support cross-functional collaboration across program teams.
  • Ensure engineering productscomply withcustomer requirements, programobjectives, and industry standards.
  • Participate in risk identification, mitigation planning, and technical issue resolution

Required Qualifications

• Be a US citizen with ability to obtain a security clearance
• Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or related technical field.
• 12+ years of systems engineering experience or 10+ years with MS degree.
• Prior experience supporting defense industry or Department of Defense (DoD) programs.
• Hands-on MBSE experience using Cameo Systems Modeler.
• Experience with model-based architecture development andSysMLmodeling.
• Experience using Jama for requirements management and traceability.
• Strong experience in requirements development and management.
• Experience developing andmaintaining:

Pay Range $131,300.00 - $237,350.00
