Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Software System Engineer (Level 1 or 2) to join the Western Region Software Engineering Directorate in Manhattan Beach, CA. The role focuses on maintaining a large C++ embedded system running on VxWorks, with responsibilities spanning requirements interpretation, test scenario development, and on-orbit issue recreation.

The candidate will work on on-orbit data analysis, test case creation, and software deliveries, requiring strong debugging, UNIX/Linux experience,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM with 0 years for Level 1 or 2 years for Level 2
• Active U.S. Government Secret clearance required at the time of application.
• Experience with Unix/Linux-based systems and MS Excel.
• Experience with C++ and debugging C++ using a debugger.

Responsibilities

• Review and understand Payload-to-Terminal and Payload-to-Payload interfaces and ICDs.
• Design, implement, and execute test scenarios using a custom integration framework.
• Analyze on-orbit and test results and write on-orbit findings.
• Run and debug test scenarios in SIMICS and use VxWorks debugging tools.
• Must be able and willing to work onsite fulltime.
