Job summary

Independent Financial Group, LLC (IFG) is seeking a Software Support Specialist in San Diego to provide first-line support for IFG software accessed by financial advisors and staff. You will document issues in Freshservice, use knowledge resources, and collaborate with Operations, Compliance, and Supervision to deliver timely help.

The role emphasizes strong communication, problem-solving, and attention to detail, with on-the-job training for technical aspects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred or equivalent work experience.
• 1-2 years of customer service experience preferred.
• Broker-dealer or financial services experience a plus.
• Experience using Freshservice is helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide first-line support via email and phone for software issues including access, navigation, and usage questions.
• Create and update Freshservice tickets with clear documentation of issue, steps, and follow-up.
• Use canned responses, scenarios, and knowledge base for efficient communication.
• Identify and elevate recurring issues, outages, or trends to senior agents or management.
• Support software onboarding tasks and user training under direction from senior staff.
• Contribute to knowledge base articles and internal documentation.
• Participate in regular team meetings and training.
• Learn internal systems and advisor-facing tools to improve response quality.
