Job summary

Zachary Piper Solutions seeks a motivated AFSIM Scenario Developer to join our team in Quantico, VA. This on-site role focuses on building and sustaining mission-focused simulations and wargaming environments that mirror real-world assets and prototypes.

You will design, implement, and validate simulation models, collaborating with engineers and analysts to ensure fidelity and interoperability within NCIP frameworks. Top Secret eligibility is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Game Development, or a related technical field.
• 5+ years of software development experience focused on simulation or game-based environments.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as C++, C#, Python, or Java.
• Experience with simulation platforms or gaming engines such as AFSIM, NGTS, Unity, Unreal Engine, Simio, or Arena.
• Familiarity with version control and collaborative software development workflows.

Job description

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented AFSIM Scenario Developer to join our team supporting a mission engineering modeling sim and analysis customer in Quantico, VA.

Core Work:

Core work encompasses developing simulations comprised of weapon systems capabilities, event scenarios, adversarial models, environmental variables, and wargaming tests in AFSIM. These simulations will help the customer define studies that may lead to the acquisition of solutions to mission critical needs.

The program is very fun to work on, and you supporting mission and campaign level wargaming scenario development efforts. Similar to videogame development but representing real warfighting assets and prototypes!

Location:

Quantico, VA (This is an on-site position)

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and sustain simulation models and environments using a variety of programming languages, tools, and data sources
• Integrate simulations into larger system architectures and supports Naval Capabilities Integration Process (NCIP) efforts for interoperability testing
• Collaborate with engineers, analysts, and operational subject matter experts to enhance model fidelity and ensure simulation accuracy

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Game Development, or a related technical field
• Minimum of 5+ years of software development experience focused on simulation or game-based environments
• Proficiency in programming languages such as C++, C#, Python, or Java
• Experience with simulation platforms or gaming engines such as AFSIM, Next Generation Threat Simulation (NGTS), Unity, Unreal Engine, Simio, or Arena
• Familiarity with version control systems and collaborative software development workflows

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of modeling and simulation principles in military or operational contexts
• Familiarity with the Naval Capabilities Integration Process (NCIP) and military systems
• Knowledge of 3D graphics, physics engines, and database management systems (e.g., SQL)
• Experience applying Agile or Scrum development methodologies in simulation projects
• Strong communication, analytical, and cross-functional collaboration skills

Clearance Requirements:

• Must possess a current/active DoD Top Secret Clearance with SCI Eligibility.

Compensation:

• $120,000 - $160,000 (Based on years of relevant experience)
