This role combines modern C++ software engineering, digital signal processing, GPU acceleration, and AI-enabled engineering tools to develop high-performance solutions for complex radar applications. The successful engineer will work across software, algorithms, hardware, and systems engineering disciplines to design, implement, optimize, test, and integrate advanced signal processing capabilities in high-side development environments.

A Day in the Life - What you'll do
  • Design, develop, document, test, debug, and optimize applications software and systems implementing complex logical, mathematical, and signal processing solutions.
  • Develop and optimize radar signal processing algorithms and pipelines for demanding digital signal processing (DSP) applications.
  • Apply modern engineering toolchains, including DSP System Toolbox, Signal Processing Toolbox, and Phased Array System tools, to model, prototype, analyze, and validate radar processing solutions.
  • Develop high-performance signal processing implementations using C++, Python, Java, and CUDA across Linux-based environments.
  • Leverage GPGPU acceleration to optimize computationally intensive signal processing and analytics workloads for real-time or performance-critical applications.
  • Analyze GPU performance and identify opportunities for optimization across memory usage, processing pipelines, algorithm implementation, and computational throughput.
  • Utilize NVIDIA technologies, including CUDA and MatX, to implement and optimize GPU-accelerated radar processing capabilities.
  • Collaborate with hardware engineers, systems engineers, equipment designers, and other technical disciplines to define, develop, integrate, and troubleshoot electronic data processing systems.
  • Translate system and user needs into software architecture, processing requirements, algorithms, interfaces, and implementation approaches.
  • Analyze system capabilities and performance to identify issues involving processing requirements, data acquisition, programming techniques, controls, and system behavior.
  • Develop software solutions that integrate with radar hardware, RF systems, processing architectures, and operational environments.
  • Perform software integration, verification, debugging, and performance testing across complex radar processing environments.
  • Investigate system and software performance issues, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions and optimizations.
  • Apply modern C++ development techniques and standards to create maintainable, high-performance software for real-time processing applications.
  • Use AI-enabled engineering tools, including AI coding assistants, to accelerate code explanation, refactoring, documentation, and test generation while maintaining engineering accountability for all reviewed and approved code.
  • Support development activities within high-side/classified environments, following applicable security, configuration management, and software development processes.
  • Conduct multidisciplinary technical research to evaluate emerging technologies, algorithms, processing architectures, and development approaches.
  • Develop technical documentation, design artifacts, test documentation, and engineering reports supporting software development and system integration.
  • Work independently to identify defects, performance bottlenecks, optimization opportunities, and future engineering needs beyond the immediate task or user story.
  • Principal-level engineers will provide technical leadership for complex software and signal processing development activities and contribute to architectural and implementation decisions.
  • Sr. Principal-level engineers will provide advanced technical direction across software, DSP, GPU acceleration, and radar processing efforts while guiding engineering teams through complex development and optimization challenges.
