Job summary

PNC is seeking a Security Analyst within its Technology organization, based in Pittsburgh, PA; Cleveland, OH; Birmingham, AL; Dallas, TX or Lakewood, CO. You will coach developers to build more secure software and support security programs across the software lifecycle.

Ideal candidates will understand OWASP Top 10, SDLC, and be able to communicate security findings clearly to engineers and product teams in a collaborative, in-office environment.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of common security concepts and vulnerability types (e.g., OWASP Top 10) and ability to apply them in real-world systems.
  • Exposure to SDLC and understanding where security fits into design, development, and testing.
  • Ability to analyze information, follow security processes, and execute tasks with attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify risks and support remediation under guidance.
  • Effective communication to explain findings to developers, product managers, and non-security partners.

An Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • Ability to work both independently on assigned tasks and collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
  • Familiarity with Agile delivery concepts (e.g., Scrum, Kanban)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Hands-on exposure to application security, secure coding concepts, or software development.
  • Familiarity with security testing concepts or tools (e.g., vulnerability scanning results, SAST/DAST outputs), with the ability to learn tool usage on the job.
  • Knowledge of security frameworks, standards, or best practices (e.g., OWASP, NIST), or strong interest in developing that knowledge.
  • Exposure to cloud computing concepts or modern application architectures (e.g., APIs, microservices) is a plus.
  • Entry-level or foundational security certifications (e.g., Security+, GIAC Fundamentals), or progress toward a relevant certification.
  • Demonstrated interest in application security, product security, or secure software development through academic projects, personal learning, or prior roles.
  • Strong documentation skills, with the ability to create clear notes, assessments, and evidence to support security processes and controls.

Job Description
  • Responsible for enabling developers to create more secure software through coaching and mentoring developers and provides subject matter expertise to Application Security programs.
  • Works with developers to help them create more secure code.
  • Manages projects and tasks related to developer.
  • Sets secure coding standards and requirements with team.
  • Coaches developers on language specific coding techniques to avoid or remediate coding flaws.

Pay Transparency

Base Salary: $80,000.00 – $185,150.00

Salaries may vary based on geographic location, market data and on individual skills, experience, and education. This role is incentive eligible with the payment based upon company, business and/or individual performance.
