PNC is seeking a Security Specialist to join its Technology organization. The role supports monitoring, analysis, and response for cyber security events across locations including Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Denver, Phoenix, and Birmingham.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in information security, a Bachelor's degree, and strong SIEM/IDS/IPS experience. Monday–Friday, 8:00am–4:30pm EST shift; PNC emphasizes an in-office culture and collaboration.

As a Security Specialist within PNC's Technology organization, you will be based in Pittsburgh, PA; Cleveland, OH; Denver, CO; Phoenix, AZ; or Birmingham, AL.

The work shift will be: Monday - Friday 8:00am EST-4:30pm EST.

  • Evaluate, respond, and mitigate alerts that originate from the SIEM and the Cyber security product suite, e.g. IDS/IPS.
  • Demonstrate use and understanding of security technologies such as Security Incident and Event Management (SIEM), IDS/IPS.
  • Assist with tuning the SIEM events to reduce the false positives.
  • Assist with improving network visibility through extensive testing.
  • Ability to demonstrate subject matter expertise on Intrusion Detection Systems & Intrusion Prevention Systems.
  • Perform operational support for the institution as a representative of the security organization.

Job Description
  • Provides technical evaluation and analysis in a specific Security area. Supports activities, process, and tools needed to improve overall security posture of the organization. Primary responsibilities do not include Architect or Engineering responsibilities.
  • Applies security concepts, reviews information, executes defined tasks, analyzes requirements, reviews logs, and creates documentation. Performs investigation and data loss prevention, data manipulation, and coordination of activities. Performs actions to address or mitigate risks and vulnerabilities. Reviews and defines controls.
  • Advises on more complex security procedures and products for clients, security administrators and network operations. Participates in enforcement of control security risks and threats; potential of one more controls subject to manager discretion. Shares knowledge with staff.
  • Conducts security assessments and other information security routines consistently. Investigates and recommends corrective actions for data security related to established guidelines.
  • Develops policies and procedures to standardize security functions and eliminate potential vulnerabilities and threats. Oversees that business needs are being met during development.

Pay Transparency

Base Salary: $91,000.00 – $185,900.00

Salaries may vary based on geographic location, market data and on individual skills, experience, and education. This role is incentive eligible with the payment based upon company, business and/or individual performance.
