Oceaneering in Hanover, MD, seeks a Software Safety Engineer to support system safety needs for underwater robotics. This role involves implementing software safety programs per MIL-STD-882 and requires a BS degree in a relevant field along with significant experience in software safety and quality engineering.
The successful candidate will ensure rigorous safety standards are met and may involve traveling and working outside normal hours occasionally.
The Software Safety Engineer serves as the key resource for Oceaneering Technologies (OTECH) system safety related needs for the robotic and autonomous vehicles we build and design. This position will require a solid foundation in fielding underwater systems that meet rigorous government system safety standards using the methods defined in MIL-STD-882.
The Software Safety Engineer applies a working knowledge of systems engineering fundamentals for submersible systems, including HM&E (hull, mechanical, and electrical) and Software. This person will work with other OTECH
