Job summary

Akaasa Technologies' Institutional Wealth Management Services team seeks a Software Quality Engineer to drive testing strategy for enterprise web apps and APIs used by financial advisors. You will design and maintain automated and manual tests, contribute to Agile ceremonies, and partner with developers to identify and fix defects.

Requirements include Java-based Selenium/Serenity, Playwright, OOP, BDD/Gherkin, API testing, SQL/NoSQL, and CI/CD.

Qualifications

• Experience driving test strategy and QA for enterprise web apps and APIs.
• Hands-on automation with Selenium/Serenity in Java required; Playwright preferred.
• Strong OOP, coding standards, and source control practices.
• Familiarity with BDD/Gherkin and API testing methodologies.
• Experience with SQL/NoSQL and CI/CD pipelines; AI tooling familiarity a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, execute, and maintain automated and manual tests across the software lifecycle.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and refine user stories with the team.
• Identify, log, and resolve defects with cross-functional development teams.

The Institutional Wealth Management Services (IWMS) team is seeking an experienced Software Quality Engineer to drive testing strategies and quality assurance for enterprise web applications and APIs used by financial advisors.

• Core Focus: Cultivate a quality mindset across collaborative Scrum teams, build and maintain test automation infrastructure, and create reusable test artifacts for enterprise web platforms and APIs.
• Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, execute, and maintain automated and manual tests across the software lifecycle.
  • Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies (user story refinement, test planning, product demos).
  • Identify, log, and resolve defects in partnership with cross-functional development teams.
  • Conduct production release verification on a regular cadence.
• Technical Qualifications & Skills:
  • Automation Frameworks: Hands-on experience with Java-based Selenium / Serenity is required (Playwright experience is a preferred plus).
  • Core Engineering & OOP: Strong software engineering practices, including Object-Oriented Design, coding standards, code reviews, and source control.
  • Testing Methodologies: Familiarity with Behavior-Driven Development (BDD / Gherkin) and API testing.
  • Databases & DevOps: Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, alongside familiarity with CI/CD deployment pipelines.
  • AI & Modern Tooling: Proficiency using GitHub Copilot or other generative AI tools to boost efficiency and quality.
