RTX is seeking a Software Quality Engineer for the Advanced Technology SBU in Tucson, AZ. You will work with cross functional teams to verify and validate design, development, and integration of Raytheon's digital products, including embedded code, simulations, firmware, and related artifacts. This onsite role requires active U.S.

government security clearance and U.S. citizenship. You will participate in program quality assessments and drive continuous improvements throughout the development

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) is required.
• 2+ years applying technical concepts in the software development process.
• Experience conducting quality assessments of software products and artifacts.
• Experience with Agile or DevOps software development practices.
• Experience with software testing, integration and monitoring.

We have an immediate need for a Software Quality Engineer for the Advanced Technology Strategic Business Unit (SBU) located in Tucson, AZ. You will work with the different cross functional organizations to ensure verification and validation of design, development, and integration of Raytheon's digital products. Digital products include artifacts related to embedded code, simulations, firmware, and other artifacts as required by contract.

This is an Onsite role in Tucson, AZ.

What You Will Do

• Program Execution Support - participate in all phases of systems/digital products design and development. Ensure that the digital products have are compliant to product/process requirements. Review and approve inputs/outputs to Software, Systems, System Integration and Test and other work products.

What You Will Learn

• Product Continuous Improvement - perform evaluations/risk assessments of activities across the digital products development lifecycle. Drive continuous improvements by assessing process/product measures to instill a continuous improvement and a data driven culture throughout your assigned program effort.
• Product Integrity - ensure integrity of the digital products & the Technical Data Package. Monitor and participate in the test and release of the work products. Measure and evaluate key software attributes.
• Teamwork - Provides guidance both to project staff and department senior staff. Guides the successful completion of program quality assessments and may function in a software quality leadership role. Interacts with senior product development and test personnel through both written and verbal communication. Has extensive knowledge of emerging software development and quality paradigms.
• Process Improvement - improve and deploy Quality Engineering processes. Collaborate on project activities to improve key processes. Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action planning. Partner with key stakeholders to improve product quality and process effectiveness.
• Knowledge and Tools - practical experience and knowledge with Agile or DevOps software development. Emphasis on software testing, continuous integration, and continuous monitoring to improve product quality in areas such as code analysis, root cause corrective action, information assurance and development methodologies.

Qualifications You Must Have

• Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of two (2) years applying technical concepts in the software development process.
• Previous experience with the following: Software/firmware development
• Conducting quality assessments of software products and artifacts.
• Agile or DevOps software development practices
• Software testing, integration and monitoring.
• The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer

• Advanced degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Information Systems, or other related STEM technical field of study.
• Project and workload management skills to utilize resources effectively to satisfy demanding internal customers and implementation schedules
• Balance of both technical and soft skills for team interfacing and cohesion
• Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
• Possess the ability to serve as an organizational spokesperson
