Software Quality Engineer

Local or Remote - 80-100k

Pittsburgh, PA or Remote if previous experience.

Responsibilities

• Participate on agile teams as a test engineer, ensuring the entire team adopts a quality mindset and implements best practices to improve performance.
• Engage with the entire product lifecycle – requirements, design, review, coding, and testing.
• Collaborate closely with project managers, software engineers, product owners, architects, and client services to solve business problems in an agile environment.
• Shape our products by providing input on user stories and designs, and give feedback on usability.
• Implement automated and manual test cases, focusing on validating complex calculations, functional scenarios, performance, scalability, and usability.
• Participate in Scrum ceremonies: planning, stand‑ups, retrospectives, and demos.
• Develop and execute test plans and coordinate with team members to implement them.
• Define and apply test methodologies and metrics to ensure quality guidelines are met.
• Pursue continuous improvement of yourself, our products, software development processes, and team performance.
• Demonstrate experience working remotely, delivering high‑quality software and collaborating from a home‑office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Minimum two years of professional experience in software development and/or automated testing.
• Experience with relational databases.
• Proven automation skills using a test automation tool such as Selenium or Test Complete.
• Experience with Visual Studio’s Web Performance and Load Test or a related performance testing tool.
• Exceptional communication, leadership, organizational, and teamwork skills with a strong desire to deliver results.
• Application performance testing experience.
