Job summary

Sealing Technologies is seeking a Software Quality Control Engineer to own software quality across the delivery pipeline. You will build and maintain automation, testing, and release validation to ensure reliable production deployment.

Work hands-on across containerized infrastructure, embedding quality controls into build and deployment processes rather than treating testing as downstream. Requires strong Kubernetes, CI/CD, and scripting skills; U.S. citizenship is required.

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship required.
• Bachelor's degree in CS/SE/IT or related field; equivalent experience considered.
• 8+ years in software quality engineering, test automation, DevOps, or platform engineering.
• Experience with Kubernetes, Ansible, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience containerizing apps with Docker; scripting in Python or Bash.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain automated test coverage in CI/CD pipelines.
• Build and manage CI/CD pipelines with GitLab CI and/or GitHub Actions.
• Deploy and troubleshoot workloads on Kubernetes clusters.
• Write Ansible playbooks/roles for infra automation and deployment.
• Set quality standards, testing strategy, and release criteria.
• Conduct functional, integration, regression, and performance testing.
• Document defects, perform root cause analysis, and verify fixes.
• Develop quality metrics and release readiness reports.
• Mentor engineers on testing practices and QA methodologies.

Position Overview:

Sealing Technologies, a Parsons Company, is looking to hire an experienced Software Quality Control Engineer to own software quality across our delivery pipeline. In this role, you will build and maintain the automation, testing, and release validation that ensures software is deployed reliably and performs to standard in production environments. You will work hands‑on across containerized and orchestrated infrastructure, embedding quality controls directly into the build and deployment process rather than treating testing as a downstream activity.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and maintain automated test coverage integrated directly into CI/CD pipelines.
• Build and manage CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI and/or GitHub Actions, including automated quality gates and release validation checks.
• Deploy, validate, and troubleshoot workloads across Kubernetes clusters, including cluster setup and workload deployment.
• Write and maintain Ansible playbooks and roles for infrastructure automation and application deployment.
• Establish and enforce quality standards, test strategy, and release acceptance criteria across software deliverables.
• Execute functional, integration, regression, and performance testing across development, staging, and production environments.
• Identify, document, and track defects through resolution; lead root cause analysis and verify corrective actions.
• Develop and maintain quality metrics, test coverage reporting, and release readiness assessments.
• Mentor engineers on testing practices, automation standards, and quality engineering methodology.

Minimum Qualifications:

• U.S. Citizenship.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
• 8 years of experience in software quality engineering, test automation, DevOps, or platform engineering.
• Experience with Kubernetes, including cluster setup, workload deployment, networking, and day to day troubleshooting.
• Experience writing and maintaining Ansible playbooks and roles for infrastructure automation and application deployment.
• Experience building and managing CI/CD pipelines with GitLab CI and/or GitHub Actions.
• Experience containerizing applications using Docker or similar tooling.
• Experience designing and implementing automated test coverage integrated into CI/CD workflows.
• Proficiency with at least one scripting or programming language (Python, Bash)
• Experience with defect tracking, root cause analysis, and corrective action processes.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Active Secret clearance or ability to obtain one.
• Experience supporting DoD or federal programs.
• Experience with test automation frameworks (pytest, Selenium, Playwright, Robot Framework, or equivalent).
• Experience with performance and load testing tools.
• Experience with Agile development practices and tooling (Jira, Confluence).
• Experience with quality management systems or formal QA methodology.
