Software Quality Analyst – Manual Testing (MI)

Job summary

JRD Systems is seeking a Software Quality Analyst for long-term local roles in MI. The candidate will perform manual QA across mobile/web, APIs, and backend components, collaborating with developers and operations to ensure quality through the full lifecycle.

Strong UML and test case design skills are required, with experience in SQL/NoSQL databases and Agile delivery. Responsibilities include creating and executing test plans, logging defects, validating fixes, and supporting deployments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
• 3+ years of Software Quality Assurance experience with Agile practices.
• 1+ years of Automated QA practices including BDD/TDD.
• 2+ years of Secure Development Lifecycle practices.
• Experience with identity and access management (registration, provisioning, RBAC, de-provisioning).
• QA experience for eCommerce, POS, and SaaS.
• QA for mobile websites and native apps (iOS, Android, Windows).
• Experience with backend APIs and databases (SQL/NoSQL, Java/C#).
• Experience with UI testing in Visual Basic.
• Nice to have scripting (Shell, Python).
• Strong understanding of networks and data management (SQL).
• Experience with full lifecycle deployment in Agile.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute QA test suites and testing approaches across the lifecycle.
• Collocate with Development and Operations teams to ensure code quality.
• Document user stories, testing estimates, and validation tests.
• Develop and maintain test strategy, scenarios, and logs of defects.
• Collaborate with developers to ensure comprehensive testing and issue prioritization.
• Manage defect log and validate fixes.
• Coordinate dev/QA/production releases across environments.
• Create functional test cases and report results clearly to Agile team.
• Perform manual testing across mobile/web, accessibility, analytics, and hardware firmware.
• Contribute to QA standards, guidelines and procedures.
• Analyze major incidents to improve test cases and prevent regressions.
• Design and execute cross-system integration and regression tests per release.
• Review automated QA suites for handover to Reliability/NOC teams.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and document QA strategy per story.
