Software QA Lead [REMOTE: Eastern or Central Time Zone]

Iteris is seeking a Software Quality Assurance Lead to join our team and help us develop software that is making a difference. We are looking for someone who is much more than a fact checker and button pusher - we need a true testing guru who understands the software and will put its features through the ringer to ensure a product is its best version. Thus, you'll need to be a detail-oriented person who can hyper-focus on the smallest of details.

The QA Lead position is primarily responsible for developing and maintaining our QA test plans and cases. In addition, they would execute the test plans and cases for our websites, mobile apps, data ingests and IVR applications. You will work with a team of talented project managers, developers, engineers and other resources who are devoted to putting out a great product. Must be able to work independently, while also a member of an agile team. While this position can be 100% remote, the candidate must live within the Eastern or Central Time Zone.

What you will be doing:

  • As a QA Lead you'll use both manual and automated testing practices
  • Provide QA input in all aspects of the project, including technical design review and development activity
  • Oversees and conducts testing to ensure quality is not compromised by resource constraints, changes in scope, or compressed schedules
  • Ensures timely integration and regression testing during component or system turnover
  • Participates in problem solving sessions with development staff when required
  • Provides QA oversight and guidance to QA team members to ensure project milestones are met and that QA activities are handled in accordance with project standards
  • Works with development staff to resolve any issues and barriers within the departmental structure that impact the quality of software development or maintenance projects
  • Leads and manages the discovery process for all project changes
  • Participates in the development, documentation, and maintenance of departmental procedures and processes
  • Represents the QA department to management
  • Ensures the QA department postures itself to self-correct and enhance its activities independent of direction from senior management
  • Participates on project teams and ad hoc committees as needed
  • Provides accurate information and statistics to management upon request
  • Communicates strategies, resolution strategies, expectations, and specific tasks with development when applicable

What you need to be successful in this role:

  • Bachelor's in Computer Science, Information Technology or Other Related field
  • Certified Software Quality Analyst (CSQA) or Certified Software Tester (CSTE) preferred
  • Minimum 2 Years of experience
  • Capable and comfortable developing, maintaining, and administering automated and manual tests to assure the quality of existing functionality on a daily basis
  • Have at least a basic understanding of automated testing tools
  • Have at least a basic understanding of task management tools
  • Team player who is comfortable working in an Agile delivery model collaborating within a Scrum team to achieve common goals
  • Provides guidance to the Scrum team on QA practices
  • Excellent communication skills (spoken and written)
  • Using testing suites, and automated testing tools (Jenkins, etc.)
  • Using task management tools (Jira, etc.)
  • Using Test Automation integrated into DevOps
  • Using code repository tools (GitHub, BitBucket, etc.)

Iteris anticipates paying between $79,100 and $88,100 for this role. However, actual pay offered may vary depending on job related knowledge, skills, and experience.
