## Software Product ManagerApply: Houston, TX: Full time: Posted Yesterday: JR101985As a **Software Product Manager**, you will lead the market and client analysis, planning, road mapping, detailed requirements writing, UI design and release scoping for complex software engineering and technology initiatives. This role is intended for a creative and technically accomplished professional who likely began their career as a software engineer and subsequently developed into a business analyst and technical product manager. The Software Product Manager will work closely with software engineers, project management, UI designers, client services teams, clients, data engineers, AI engineers, infrastructure teams, and executive stakeholders to translate business objectives into executable product and release plans for teams to build the related software products. The role will frequently involve collaboration with distributed technology teams across multiple time zones, including teams in the United States and India. As a premier consulting and technology firm, alliant is focused on providing solutions to help businesses transform and thrive, while serving as their ongoing growth partner. **Key Responsibilities** * Translate customer needs, business objectives, user feedback, and technical considerations into clear product requirements, user stories, workflows, business rules, acceptance criteria, and success measures for web and mobile applications* Partner with engineering and design to validate feasibility, resolve gaps and dependencies, and maintain a shared understanding of product and feature requirements before development begins.* Maintain accurate product, requirements, and release documentation as products evolve.* Develop and deliver release communications, presentations, and training for internal and external audiences.* Apply Agile practices by facilitating sprint planning, backlog refinement, reviews, and retrospectives while partnering with engineering to translate requirements into clearly defined, actionable work items.* Track sprint progress, capacity, dependencies, blockers, and delivery trends to support realistic release schedules.* Create and continuously refine a prioritized product roadmap based on customer impact, business value, strategic objectives, effort, dependencies, risk, and available capacity.* Partner with engineering and delivery teams to translate initiatives into achievable releases, milestones, and incremental deliverables while monitoring progress and managing cross-team dependencies.* Communicate roadmap priorities, rationale, tradeoffs, and deferred work to stakeholders.* Partner with engineering, UX/UI, QA, customer-facing teams, and business stakeholders to facilitate requirements reviews, prioritization, backlog refinement, and release planning throughout the product lifecycle.* Resolve ambiguity, make timely product decisions, and clearly communicate priorities and tradeoffs to technical and non-technical stakeholders.* Incorporate customer and internal feedback into product requirements and roadmap priorities.* Define measurable outcomes for features and releases, evaluate delivered functionality against requirements and user needs, and use product data and feedback to identify improvements.* Improve product-development processes, requirements quality, and roadmap practices.* Collaborate effectively with engineering, UI/UX, QA, and business teams across the United States, India, and multiple time zones.* Use clear documentation and outcome-focused meetings to communicate priorities, decisions, dependencies, blockers, schedule changes, and next steps. **Technical Qualifications** Experience with software development, product design, project management, and documentation tools such as: * Aha!* Microsoft Azure DevOps / ADO Projects* Jira* Confluence* Microsoft Suite, including Loop* Lucid* Figma **Qualifications** * Degree in Computer Science or a related field, required; UI/UX education or certification preferred.* 4+ years of experience in software product management, product ownership, business analysis, or a related role, with experience managing products from requirements through release.* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex needs into clear, actionable requirements for engineering teams.* Strong understanding of software development lifecycles and Agile practices.* Experience developing and managing prioritized product roadmaps and release plans.* Strong written and verbal communication skills.* Experience using design and AI-enabled tools to develop or communicate UI concepts preferred.* Familiarity with content management systems (CMS) and content publishing preferred* Ability to balance customer needs, business priorities, technical constraints, and delivery capacity when making product decisions.* Ability to collaborate effectively with engineering, UX/UI, and QA teams and understand technical concepts, including APIs, integrations, dependencies, and system behavior.* Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple products, initiatives, and stakeholders.* High sense of urgency with the ability to meet deadlines and changing priorities.* Receptiveness to performance feedback within a team environment is essential.* Ability to work full-time onsite in the Houston, Texas office five days per week.
