Job summary

Ford in Dearborn, MI is seeking a Software Integration Tester to lead the validation of Infotainment software across complex ECU networks. You will design, develop, maintain, and execute tests, including automation, and troubleshoot network issues within vehicle systems.

The role requires 8+ years in software verification and 5+ years designing test strategies, with knowledge of QNX and Android Automotive. This position emphasizes collaboration with agile teams and adherence to industry QA

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, applicable field, or equivalent work experience.
• 8+ years of advanced professional experience in software verification for test suites and automation.
• 5+ years implementing and designing test strategies.
• Master’s Degree in CS/Engineering preferred.
• Experience with multiple tech stacks and verifying QNX and Android Automotive.
• Experience leading agile teams and coordinating with suppliers.
• Knowledge of software configuration management, CI/CD, and DevSecOps practices.

Job description

In the position of Software Integration Tester, you will lead our efforts in the delivery of high quality Infotainment software experiences for our customers. The person in this software test position is passionate about the validation and verification of new Infotainment features and solutions.

As a Software Integration Tester, the candidate will be required to understand product requirements and integration test steps to validate the production software. They will be responsible for designing, developing, maintaining, and executing software tests for high profile products. They will be able to perform testing in complex multi-ECU test setups or test vehicles. A solid understanding of vehicle network architecture is required and knowledge of important infotainment features will be critical in the role. Understanding how key vehicle ECUs communicate with the Infotainment ECU to be able to troubleshoot common vehicle network issues is a must.

What you'll do...

• Lead the design, planning, and execution of test methods and automation scripts for requirements verification purposes, at multiple integration / solution levels.
• Lead incidents triage (contributing to Risk assessment definition), performs root cause analysis, and Designs Preventive Actions.
• Use Test Management tools for test planning creation, execution, monitoring (proficient key metrics interpretation for Test Strategy definition), and reporting of Test Results.
• Perform testing in complex multi-ECU test setups or test vehicles.
• Troubleshoot vehicle network issues related to the Infotainment ECU.
• Use defect management tools for defect creation, and monitoring resolution.
• Proven expert with Automation tools & strategies, contributing with mentorship and coaching to colleagues.
• Follow and promote code artisanship best practices, quality and security standards; and contributes to the improvement of them.
• Understand and apply industry Software Quality Assurance standards (ASPICE, ISTQB, ASAM, INCOSE, etc.)

Education

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, applicable degree, or equivalent work experience. (Successful candidates will be required to provide proof of degree completion for the highest level of education attained.
  

Experience

• 8+ years of advanced professional experience with Software / Requirements Verifications projects (Test Suite and Automation solutions for multiple Verification / Validation scopes & Integration levels).
• 5+ years of professional experience implementing test strategies and designing test strategies.

Experience

• Extensive Experience on Requirements Engineering or Electrical Architecture or Software Architectures or Functional Architectures.

• Software configuration management systems (source control, DevSecOps, CI/CD) and proposes enhancements based on Verification perspective.

• Experience with multiple tech stacks and the verification of its functions including QNX, and Android Automotive.
• Effectively lead agile teams by following agile practices with Internal Software Design Verification groups, as well as Tier I and Tier II (external suppliers).
• Demonstrated success creating evolutionaryDesign Verification architectures and Automation Frameworks with appropriate operational characteristics: scale, reliability, security, performance, Functional, Release, etc.
• Experience in modern software development methodology, such as pair programming, test-first/test-driven development OR demonstrated delivery of singular focus programming.

This position is a salary grade 7-8.
