Job summary

AS&T in Moorestown, NJ seeks a Software Integration & Test Engineer II to support the U.S. Navy Aegis Weapons System.

You will perform system-level software integration in a lab, execute requirement-driven tests, and troubleshoot distributed components. The role involves reading production code (C/C++, Java), developing Python automation, creating test procedures, and collaborating with developers and systems engineers in a controlled environment.

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship with an active or recent DoD security clearance.
• On-site work in laboratory environments; ability to support testing after hours.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical discipline.
• 2–4 years in software integration, system test, or software engineering.
• Experience reading production code in C/C++, Java, or similar languages.
• Proficiency in Python or comparable scripting language.
• Experience capturing and analyzing logs and diagnostic data.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop working‑level understanding of system architecture and inter‑subsystem message flows.
• Read production software code to support integration troubleshooting and test procedures.
• Identify, isolate, reproduce, document and retest integration defects.
• Develop, maintain, and execute automated regression tests using Python.
• Develop small utilities, scripts, or integration tools to enhance testing.
• Install, configure, load subsystem software builds into lab equipment; test with hardware and simulators.
• Maintain laboratory operability and provide hands‑on support during integration and test activities.
• Plan, schedule, and coordinate laboratory resource usage.
• Collaborate with software developers and systems engineers in a controlled environment.
• Support integration events and testing outside standard business hours.
