Job summary

BCT LLC is seeking a Software Integration Engineer 4 (SIE Level 4) with active TS/SCI Poly to integrate and support COTS/GOTS software across heterogeneous OS environments. The role emphasizes automation, HPC system administration, and performance optimization.

The candidate will troubleshoot complex HPC systems, implement IaC practices, and work with network and storage technologies to maintain mission-critical capabilities. MD-based, on-site position with competitive compensation.

Qualifications

• Experience with Linux CLI and the Linux toolchain.
• Proficiency in Bash and Python scripting for automation.
• Strong understanding of Slurm and HPC job scheduling.
• Experience integrating, evaluating, and administering HPC systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot HPC issues with root-cause analysis.

Responsibilities

• Integrate, install, configure, upgrade, and support COTS/GOTS software in a heterogeneous OS environment.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure system reliability for HPC workloads.

About the job:

BCT LLC is seeking a Software Integration Engineer 4 to join our team. The ideal candidate must possess an active TS/SCI with POLY and have experience providing expertise in integrating, installing, configuring, upgrading, compiling and supporting COTS/GOTS software in a heterogeneous operating system environment.

Required Skills:

• Experience with the Linux CLI, and the Linux suite of tools
• Extensive recent experience using Bash/Python to develop scripts
• Solid understanding of the Slurm resource management and job scheduling tool
• Experience with integration, evaluation, and system administration of HPC systems
• Experience troubleshooting HPC system problems, including basic system administration tasks, including software stack issues and hardware issues
• Experience with IaC principles and automation tools such as Salt and Ansible
• Familiar with HPC shared file systems such as Lustre, GPFS, and Panasas
• Familiar with system monitoring tools such as Ganglia and Nagios
• Familiar with acceleration technologies such as GPU, FPGA, and ASICs
• Familiar with high-speed network interconnect technologies such as InfiniBand and Slingshot
• Familiar with open-source industry-standard HPC benchmark tooling
• Ability to troubleshoot problems with a rigorous, analytical approach that enables diagnosis of root causes and discovery of mitigation/solution paths

Desired Skills

• Experience with the Atlassian Tool Suite (JIRA, Confluence)
• Experience supporting HPC large-scale systems and customers

Required Education:

Qualified candidates must meet one of the following criteria:

Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field and have at least ten (10) years of demonstrable experience with integrating, installing, configuring, upgrading, compiling, and supporting COTS/GOTS software in a heterogeneous operating system environment OR

The individual shall have five (5) years full-time Computer Science directly related work that can be substituted for a degree and have at least ten (10) years of demonstrable experience OR

An industry recognized professional certification, as defined in the TT0s, may substitute as one (1) year experience OR

A master's degree in computer science or related field may substitute for two (2) years' experience.

Salary Range: $173,000-227,100

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, BCT-LLC considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
