Job summary

Archer is seeking a Software Integration Engineer to integrate onboard software stacks onto flight hardware and manage ground-control software for autonomous aircraft systems. You will plan and execute comprehensive test campaigns, coordinate safety and site operations, and analyze test data to support program milestones.

The role requires hands-on robotics/system software experience, proficiency with ROS 2, Linux-based systems, MAVLink, PX4/ArduPilot, and GCS/HMI development, plus Python/MATLAB

Qualifications

• Background in robotics or systems software engineering.
• Experience with ROS 2 and Linux-based systems.
• Experience with MAVLink and PX4/ArduPilot.
• Experience with ground control station (GCS) or human-machine interface (HMI) development.
• Hands-on test experience with small aircraft or robotic platforms; data analysis in Python or MATLAB.

Responsibilities

• Own ground-control software and operator interface for single-operator, multi-platform operation.
• Plan and execute end-to-end test campaigns, including test cards, instrumentation, and safety/site coordination.

What You'll Do

• Integrate the onboard software stack onto flight hardware, including flight controllers and companion compute systems
• Own ground-control software and operator interface, supporting single-operator, multi-platform operation
• Plan and execute test campaigns end-to-end, including test cards, instrumentation, and safety/site coordination
• Perform post-test data analysis to gate program milestones
• Own the overall operator experience from ground control to in-field operation and collaborate cross-functionally with hardware, perception, navigation, and autonomy teams

What You Need

• Background in robotics or systems software engineering
• Experience with ROS 2 and Linux-based systems
• Experience with MAVLink and PX4/ArduPilot

Nice to Have

• Part 107 certification or airspace-authorization experience

Base pay $140,000-$260,000. Actual compensation determined by job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
