Job summary

Plaid in New York is seeking a software engineering intern to join one of our fast‑growing teams. You’ll be embedded in a project from day one, complete a starter task, then a capstone that ships to production by internship end.

You’ll collaborate with engineers and cross‑functional colleagues to build impactful products using Go, TypeScript, and Python. You’ll leverage AI-assisted development tools and participate in onboarding that fosters learning and community.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Machine Learning, Data Science, Physics, Math, Statistics, or a related technical field, with an expected graduation date Winter 2027 or Spring 2028.
• Demonstrated experience building interesting and impactful projects—internships, coursework, or independent work.
• Strong grasp of CS fundamentals and proficiency in at least one programming language.
• Product-oriented mindset—you’re excited to build tools and systems that reach millions of users.
• Comfortable navigating ambiguity and wearing multiple hats; most Plaid engineers work across the full stack, from front end to core infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Be fully embedded within one of our Engineering teams, contributing meaningfully from day one
• Take ownership of a starter project (typically 2–3 weeks), followed by a larger capstone project that will ship to production by the end of your internship
• Collaborate closely with engineers and cross-functional teammates across Plaid to build impactful products
• Use AI-assisted development tools as part of your day-to-day engineering workflow and grow your ability to apply them effectively
• Participate in intern-specific onboarding and regular programming designed to foster connection, learning, and fun with fellow Engineering and Sales interns

We're using the scale of Plaid's network and data to power a new suite of insights products across areas like Credit and Fraud, giving engineers the chance to solve challenging technical problems while building products with real-world impact. Most of our back-end core systems are written in Go, but that's not a prerequisite. We pick the right tool for the job and have systems in Go, TypeScript, and Python.

You must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without employer sponsorship for the full duration of the internship. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship, including J-1 (exchange visitor) sponsorship.
