$177,000.00/yr - $251,000.00/yr

About the Role

The Wearable AI Team at Meta is seeking a technical leader to develop next-generation AI experiences on smart devices. You will shape core AI technology powering Meta's Smart Glasses and future devices, building a new computing platform with advanced AI technologies. Building on our Multimodal AI Assistant launched on Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses last year, we aim to create a human-like Assistant that sees, hears, and assists seamlessly. We seek a leader to accelerate our agentic AI plans, creating adaptable, autonomous systems that reason, plan, and use tools to meet diverse user needs, enhancing Meta's smart devices.

Responsibilities
  1. Technical Leadership: Provide guidance to develop next-gen AI experiences.
  2. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with product, design, research, and engineering teams to integrate research into production systems and launch AI experiences.
  3. System Design: Design scalable, reliable AI systems to drive adoption.
  4. Research & Development: Conduct cutting-edge R&D in GenAI, LLMs, NLU/P/G, focusing on agentic systems, reasoning, planning, and memory in constrained environments.
  5. Technical Adaptability: Keep current with AI advancements and adapt tools and frameworks accordingly.
  6. Team Development: Mentor team members to foster growth and innovation.
  7. Communication: Clearly communicate complex technical concepts to stakeholders, including executives.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3+ years managing research scientists, applied scientists, and ML engineers, with a proven leadership record.
  • Experience in research and production in NLP, NLU, NLG, IR, GenAI, RL, Personalization, Agents, Deep Learning.
  • 3+ years developing LLM algorithms/systems, pre- and post-training.
  • 5+ years hands-on deep learning experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • MSc or PhD in ML, CS, electrical engineering, neuroscience, statistics, or related fields.
  • First-author publications in AI conferences like ICLR, ICML, NeurIPS, ACL, AAAI, EMNLP, CVPR, MLSys.
  • Research and production experience in agentic AI, reinforcement learning, LLM alignment, memory, and personalization.
  • Experience with inference, memory optimization, quantization, and sparsity.
  • Familiarity with agentic AI frameworks such as AutoGen, LangGraph, LangChain.
