Job summary

Sift is seeking a hands-on Software Engineering Manager to lead the Mission Ops squad, owning technical scope across UI, APIs and backend. You will steer the team to deliver scalable, reliable systems for monitoring fleets and resolving issues during launch campaigns and live operations.

The role reports to the VP of Engineering and requires leading engineers, shaping a technical roadmap, and hands-on contribution across frontend, APIs and backend services.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in software engineering with 2+ years in a people management role.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, STEM, or a related field.
• Strong experience with distributed systems and web applications using Go, Rust, or Python; modern frontends in React/TypeScript.
• Experience building real-time monitoring, alerting, or incident management systems; observability with Grafana/Prometheus.
• Proven ability to guide teams through ambiguity and be a force multiplier for engineering talent.
