Job summary

Sift is seeking a hands-on Software Engineering Manager to lead the Mission Ops squad, owning UI, API, and backend scope. You’ll mentor engineers, shape the technical roadmap, and ensure high-velocity delivery with reliability for launch campaigns and live operations.

Ideal candidates have 7+ years in software engineering with 2+ years in management, expertise in Go/Rust/Python and React/TypeScript, and a track record of leading AI-enabled, observability-focused systems.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in software engineering with 2+ years in people management.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, STEM, or a related field.
• Strong experience with distributed systems and web apps using Go, Rust, or Python, and frontend with React/TypeScript.
• Experience building real-time monitoring, alerting, or incident management systems and familiarity with time‑series data; observability tools Grafana/Prometheus.

• Leadership: build and mentor a high-performing engineering team.
• Strategy: shape a technical roadmap with Product and GTM teams.
• Execution: deliver high-velocity, reliable results for launch/live ops.
• Process Excellence: refine engineering processes and AI-assisted workflows.
