Google is seeking a Software Engineer Manager for the Meet Infrastructure to lead multiple teams, define technical strategy, and align engineering with product goals. You will mentor engineers, review designs, own roadmaps, and help scale video infrastructure to serve billions of users worldwide.

This role requires strong leadership, deep systems expertise, and the ability to influence across groups while delivering high quality, scalable solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience in software development.
• 3 years of experience with developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems, or related compute/storage/hardware.
• 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role.
• 2 years of people management or team leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Set and communicate team priorities that support the broader organization's goals.
• Set clear expectations with individuals based on their level and role; provide feedback and coaching.
• Develop mid-term technical goals and roadmaps for multiple teams; adapt to future infrastructure needs.
• Design, guide and vet systems designs within the broader area; write scalable code to solve ambiguous problems.
• Review code from engineers and ensure best practices are followed.
