Job summary

Grand Circle Travel, headquartered in Boston, seeks a Software Development Manager to lead a team delivering customer‑facing web solutions. You will guide technical direction, align with Product, QA, PM and Engineering, and drive scalable, secure applications using Next.js, React, and C# on Azure.

You will mentor engineers, foster best practices, and help shape an innovative engineering culture in a hybrid 3x/week onsite environment in Boston.

Qualifications

7+ years of software development experience with 2+ years in leadership roles.
Experience building customer‑facing web applications with Next.js, React, and C#.
Strong understanding of SOLID, Domain‑Driven Design, and common design patterns.
Experience with Microsoft Azure or other cloud platforms.
Proven ability to coach, mentor and develop software engineers.
Excellent communication and collaboration with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Lead, coach, and develop a team of software engineers.
Provide technical leadership across the software development lifecycle.
Guide architectural discussions to ensure scalable, secure, maintainable systems.
Drive engineering best practices including code quality, automated testing, Agile delivery.
Partner with Product, QA, PM, and Engineering to deliver customer‑focused solutions.
Monitor engineering and operational metrics to improve delivery and reliability.
Support cloud development and deployment on Microsoft Azure.
Foster a collaborative, inclusive engineering culture and continuous learning.
