Job summary

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana seeks a Software Engineering Manager to lead the design, development, and maintenance of client-facing applications in Baton Rouge. You will direct engineers, assign work, evaluate performance, recruit staff, and ensure best practices in development and delivery.

Reporting to departmental leadership, you will mentor teams, drive technology decisions, and align with the Technology Roadmap while ensuring regulatory compliance and cost efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Computer Science or related field required; MBA preferred; Four years of related experience can be used in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree.
• 5 years of business systems analysis and design experience with 2 years of leadership experience required.
• Must have experience with MS Dynamics platform and Agile development methodology.
• Broad knowledge of IT development management and control concepts; strong application knowledge of business practices.

• Manages staff, promotes career development, mentors team to improve productivity and customer service.
• Provides input for strategic technology decisions and supports the Technology Roadmap.
• Owns systems, applications, and technologies in their area of responsibility.
