Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with data plane and control plane development, and with both data plane and control plane elements, enabling design and implementation of networking solutions.

The Kubernetes Networking team develops networking solutions for Google Cloud's container platforms, including Google Kubernetes Engine, Anthos, and Google Distributed Cloud.

As an Engineering Manager, you will lead a team of Software Engineers to integrate Google Distributed Cloud (GDC) platforms with networking solutions. You will work with the flexible Extended Berkeley Packet Filter (eBPF) framework to develop networking features and delve into the architecture of Google Data Centers (GDC), including the Network Function Optimizer.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $197,000-$291,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
  • Lead and mentor a high-performing engineering team, guide career development, and shape technical strategy for networking solutions.
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration, partner with platform, Google Distributed Cloud (GDC), Anthos Networking, and other stakeholder teams to achieve project goals and deliver results.
  • Define and deliver key networking solutions, plan and execute the development of network virtualization solutions for Google Distributed Cloud (GDC) Connected and Software-Only platforms, including the Network Function Optimizer (NFO).
  • Design and develop networking technologies, lead the creation of advanced network connectivity and virtualization solutions for hybrid/multi-cloud environments and container/VM workloads on Kubernetes.
  • Engage with the open source community, troubleshoot production issues for Google Distributed Cloud (GDC) customers, and advocate for Google's networking technologies through public forums and events.
