Job summary

Google Cloud is seeking an experienced Software Engineering Manager to lead teams across information retrieval, AI, NLP, and large-scale systems. You will set goals, align budgets, and drive engineering excellence across multiple international sites, including the US offices.

Responsibilities include defining technical vision, roadmap, guiding system designs, and mentoring engineers to improve throughput, code health, and quality while delivering complex projects on time and within scope.

• Develop the mid‑term technical vision and roadmap within the scope of your (often multiple) team(s); evolve the roadmap to meet anticipated future requirements and infrastructure needs.
• Design, guide, and vet system designs within the scope of the broader area, and write product or system development code to solve ambiguous problems.
• Review code developed by other engineers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).

Compensation

US: $207,000 – $301,000 (USD) + 20% bonus target + equity + benefits.
