Job summary

SCI Technology, a Sanmina Company, is recruiting a Software Engineering Manager in Huntsville, AL, to lead all software development across ruggedized intercommunication systems, avionics LRUs, and embedded electronics. The role focuses on modernizing processes with agile, data-driven and AI-assisted workflows while maintaining strict DO-178C and AS9100 standards.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related field.
10+ years of software development experience with 5+ years in team or technical management.
Proven experience leading software teams for embedded or safety-critical systems.
Familiarity with modern toolchains (GitLab, Jenkins, Jira, SonarQube, Docker) and AI-assisted workflows.
Strong agile, requirements traceability and quality metrics.
Experience driving improvements in software delivery speed and quality.
Excellent communication and leadership, able to motivate teams and enforce accountability.
Ability to obtain a DoD Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

Lead all software engineering teams across SCI’s product lines with strategic direction and daily oversight.
Establish a modern software development framework emphasizing agility, accountability and fast delivery.
Implement AI-assisted tools to improve coding efficiency, requirements documentation and verification accuracy.
Integrate CI/CD pipelines, automated testing and DevSecOps principles to streamline releases.
Introduce dashboards and accountability frameworks to track velocity, code quality, defects and milestones.
Drive cultural transformation with continuous learning, technical excellence, and ownership.
Ensure software meets DO-178C and cybersecurity requirements with strict config/change control.
Collaborate with Systems, Hardware, and Test Eng to enable rapid integration and test cycles.
Develop scalable organization structure balancing FTEs, contractors and automation.
Work with PMO to deliver accurate cost-to-complete forecasts and transparent milestones.
Serve as technical authority for software design standards, tools, and reuse strategies.
