Job summary

NetJets, the global private aviation leader, is seeking a Manager, Software Engineering in Columbus, OH to lead and mentor a team of engineers responsible for owned applications. You'll partner with Product Owners and architects to translate business capabilities into technology roadmaps, drive cloud adoption (AWS), and ensure delivery with high reliability and security.

Qualifications

• 8–10 years of software engineering leadership in mid-to-large enterprises.
• Experience designing and supporting cloud-native apps, preferably AWS.
• Strong knowledge of distributed systems, microservices, APIs, and enterprise architecture.
• Proven track record leading Agile teams and ceremonies.
• Experience in incident response and service restoration.
• Roadmaps aligned to business capabilities and platform modernization.
• DevOps focus: CI/CD, automation, monitoring, and code quality.
• Ability to balance delivery with architectural sustainability.
• Excellent communication across geographies.
• Experience with vendor management and enterprise standards.
• Aviation/domain knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Hire, mentor, and manage the performance of software resources.
• Coach software engineering teams to reach their fullest potential.
• Ensure the team delivers owned applications via hiring, coaching, and upskilling.
• Provide technical leadership across design, development, deployment, and support.
• Collaborate to translate business capabilities into roadmaps and delivery plans.
• Own and communicate the technical roadmap, balancing priorities.
• Lead Agile practices: backlog, sprints, standups, reviews, and retros.
• Lead cloud adoption and modernization, with AWS preference.
• Support 24x7 mission-critical apps and coordinate incident response.
