D24 Search Limited seeks an experienced engineering leader to helm a pod within our Agentic Marketing Platform (AMP). You’ll guide feature delivery, balance coding with leadership, and grow a team of 4–8 direct engineers. This role sits at the center of our AI-native marketing platform strategy.

You’ll own roadmaps, collaborate with product and GTM, and drive reliable, scalable systems that translate data and models into production-ready marketing tools.

My client is a high growth Series D start up building an AI-powered marketing platform, which lets businesses activate customer data straight from their own data warehouse

Their mission is to empower everyone to take action on their data. Hundreds of companies, including Autotrader, Calendly, Cars.com, Monday.com and PetSmart, rely on their platform to drive their growth.

They are in a hypergrowth phase! Revenue and headcount roughly double every year. The company is headquartered in San Francisco and has team members around the world. Funded to over $332m - Backers include Goldman Sachs, Sapphire Ventures, ICONIQ, Bain Capital Ventures, Amplify Partners, Y Combinator and Afore Capital.

What we're looking for

We need a hands-on engineering leader with at least 1 year of formal people management experience (not just tech lead or informal mentoring). You should have a strong software engineering background and a track record of shipping major products in a high-growth, early-stage startup, ideally at a company like Ramp or Rippling that grew its product, scale and headcount quickly. You should be comfortable moving between writing code during intense sprints and handling backlog management, cross-functional work and people development. Bonus points for a CS degree from a top-tier program, founder or founding engineer experience, and hands-on experience building agentic or LLM-based products.

Context: This is a new seat driven by growth, not a backfill. Current managers have too many direct reports. This hire will take over one of the pods within Agents, which supports our Agentic Marketing Platform (AMP). AMP is one of the company's biggest strategic investments and central to its goal of becoming the AI-native operating system for marketing. You'll start with roughly 4–8 direct reports, depending on which pod best matches your expertise.

Requirements

• 2 - 16 years of experience as an engineering manager
• Experience at a high- growth early- stage startup (Ramp, Rippling, or similar)
• Engineering people management experience (not purely technical leadership or mentorship)
• Experience with agent or agentic systems
• Work authorization not requiring net- new visa sponsorship (visa transfers, Canadian TN accepted)
• Graduation from a top- tier CS program preferred.
• Ability and willingness to be hands- on and jump into code when needed
• Bonus points for Experience as a founder, co- founder, or founding engineer

What you'll do

• Lead product development for your AMP pod: roadmap and deliver significant features and products while keeping a high technical bar and making practical tradeoffs.
• Own pace of execution: combine leadership and technical skill to help the team ship faster. Jump into the code yourself when the business needs it.
• Work closely with product, design, go-to-market and other engineering teams to build systems for content generation, context management, insights and campaign orchestration across ad and lifecycle platforms.
• Build agentic systems that combine foundation models with rich customer data, brand guidelines and campaign performance history. The goal is AI marketing output that is grounded, trustworthy and ready for production.
• Lead recruiting for your team from start to finish: identify hiring needs, design how candidates are evaluated, and hire high-impact engineers.
• Improve reliability and grow your people: reduce incidents, catch issues before customers do, maintain strong incident management practices, and mentor team members to keep them engaged and growing.
• Build the AI future of marketing: You'll lead engineering on our Agentic Marketing Platform (AMP). It's one of the company's biggest strategic bets and the core of its plan to become the AI-native operating system for marketing.
• A real data moat: Agents only work when they get good context. We spent 5-6 years connecting marketers to their warehouse data. Now AMP puts that data to work so you're not building a thin LLM wrapper.
• Hard problems: You'll work on content generation, context management, insights and multi-channel campaign orchestration across ad and lifecycle platforms.
• Your own team: You'll take over a pod with roughly 4-8 direct reports. We'll match the pod to your strengths. You will report straight to our SVP of Engineering.
• Hypergrowth with momentum: Revenue and headcount roughly double every year. We just raised a $150M Series D (Goldman Sachs, Sapphire, ICONIQ, Bain Capital Ventures, YC). Gartner named it a Leader in the 2026 Magic Quadrant for CDPs.
• Small team with big impact: The technical org is only around 100 people. Your decisions will shape the product directly.
• Strong pay: Base runs $300K-$400K with meaningful equity on top. You get some flexibility in how you structure the equity.
